Principle
Tap water enters the inlet filter through the distribution water tank and is filtered from top to bottom. As the filter layer continuously traps suspended solids in the incoming water, the water head loss of the filter layer gradually increases, causing the siphon to rise and the water level in the pipe flushing system to rise.
When the water level rises into the water ejector within the siphon auxiliary pipe, the hydraulic action carries away the air in the siphon tube, creating a negative pressure. When the negative pressure reaches the design value, the siphon phenomenon occurs, allowing the water in the tank to backwash from bottom to top and be "regenerated".
As the filter layer is continuously backwashed, when the water level in the tank drops to the specified value, the siphon action is broken, the backwash ends, and the filtration device resumes operation.

Application:

2. Physical effects in the filtration process

When the water flows into the middle of the filter layer, because the sand particles in the filter material layer are arranged more closely, the particles in the water have more opportunities to collide with the sand, so that the flocculant, suspended matter and the surface of the sand stick to each other, and the impurities in the water are trapped in the filter material layer, so as to obtain the clarified water quality.
3. Chemical action in the filtration process
Although the main role of the multi-media filter is to remove suspended impurities in the water through physical retention, it can also remove some organic substances, heterochromatic substances and odorous substances in the water to a certain extent.
