Working Principle of Cartridge Filter Dust Collector

1. Dusty gas enters the collector through the air inlet and first flows through an air distribution device. This part spreads the gas evenly before sending it to the filter cartridge zone.

2. The filter cartridges, often flame-retardant, are made of premium materials such as glass fiber and polyester fiber, and have a dense microporous structure. As polluted air passes through, dust particles get trapped on the cartridge surface. This occurs either because the particles are bigger than the filter pores, or due to collision, interception and diffusion with the fibers. Even ultrafine dust can be captured, since Brownian motion increases its contact with the fibers.

3. As dust accumulates, filtration resistance goes up. This triggers the pulse-jet cleaning system. Compressed air is released instantly through pulse valves, and venturi tubes suck in a large amount of surrounding air to rush into the cartridges. The strong airflow makes the cartridges expand and flex quickly, shaking off the dust layer. The removed dust then falls into the ash hopper at the bottom for disposal.
